Privacy policy

The short version

INSET has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no cookies and no tracking. There is no server that holds anything about you. Nothing you do in the game is sent anywhere.

What stays on your device

The game remembers today's result, your streak and your settings. All of it is kept in your browser's local storage, on your device only. It never leaves it. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes it permanently, and we cannot restore it, because we never had a copy.

What is sent over the network

The whole game is one page. The maps and country outlines are already inside it, so no map tiles, no country data and no scores are requested while you play. The typeface is bundled in the page too, so nothing at all is requested while you play, and the game works with no connection once it has loaded. The one exception is the scoreboard: if you join it, your chosen name, your country and your score for the day are sent to our server, and nothing else.

No scoreboard

There is no scoreboard and no ranking. You are not compared with anyone, because there is nowhere for your scores to go.

Sharing your result

Share result builds the row of squares on your device and hands it to your device's own share sheet or clipboard. Nothing is uploaded by us; where it goes is entirely your choice.

Children

INSET is not directed at children and asks for no personal information from anyone. There is no field anywhere in the game to type anything into.

Changes

If this policy ever changes materially, the date above will change with it.
